Knicks will energetically watch Team Porzingis versus potential No. 1 stud
Kristaps Porzingis isn't coming to Tarrytown presently. On Sunday, Latvia progressed to the quarterfinals of the European Championships with a 100-68 bashing of Montenegro in end play. Porzingis, the 7-foot-3 Knicks phenom, featured again with 19 focuses on 5-of-8 shooting, six bounce back and three aids 22 minutes. Latvia, with a record of 5-1, next plays Slovenia in the quarters. While president Steve Mills and GM Scott Perry are in New York getting ready for Sept. 25's preparation camp, the Knicks have a large group of scouts and faculty men in Europe.
In Latvia versus Slovenia, the Knicks metal can see Porzingis as well as one year from now's potential No. 1 pick, 6-7 forward Luka Doncic. Likewise on Slovenia is ex-Knick Anthony Randolph and point protect Goran Dragic. Doncic plays little forward/shooting monitor, so he likely won't coordinate with Porzingis.
