Morrissey announces 2025 North American tour dates

Planning a Concert Night Around the Dallas Metro Sports Calendar

Tour announcements from major touring artists tend to land months ahead of the shows themselves, and by the time a run of dates has been played, the useful questions shift from "when" to "how do fans in North Texas actually plan around big nights out." Since this 2025 tour announcement is now in the past, here is some practical background for anyone weighing a concert against a game night in the Dallas metro.

Arenas are shared spaces

Many of the large indoor venues in the region host basketball, hockey, concerts and family shows in the same season. That means a touring act and a home game can compete for the same building, the same parking garages and the same highway exits. When a tour routes through Dallas or Fort Worth, it is worth checking the venue's own calendar for nearby dates, because back-to-back events can make traffic and parking noticeably heavier than usual. Our venues section gives an overview of the buildings fans use most often.

Tips for a smooth event night

• Buy from official sources. Use the artist's or venue's official ticketing channels and be wary of unofficial resale listings that look too good to be true.
• Check bag and entry policies. Concerts and games at the same venue sometimes have different rules on bag sizes, cameras and re-entry.
• Plan transport early. DART rail and rideshare drop-off zones can be quicker than driving on busy nights, but confirm routes and late-night service before you go.
• Arrive with a buffer. Security lines at large events move slower than many people expect, especially when doors open close to show time.

Keeping your own calendar straight

If you follow local basketball as well as live music, it helps to keep both schedules side by side. Our schedule page lists game nights so you can spot clashes before committing to tickets, and the guides cover more general advice on getting the most from an evening out in the Dallas metro. Dates for any tour or game can change, so always confirm with the official organiser close to the event.
